John Wolf Brennan

John Wolf Brennan, composer and pianist, was born in Dublin. He studied music at Fribourg University, as well as conducting, piano, and organ at Musikhochschule Lucerne, Switzerland. He attended composition masterclasses taught by Edison Denisov and Klaus Huber, Hanspeter KYburz, Hanspeter Holliger, Hanspeter Kirz, Hanspeter Kyburz, and Ennio Marricone. His compositions include music for solo piano, chamber pieces, and choral settings. His works include theatre, dance, and multi-media performances. John Wolf Brennan is a member of many ensembles such as PAGO LIBRE (conductor: Magda Vogel), the female choir DIE VOGELFREIEN, and a new trio featuring Christian Zehnder, overtone singer. His latest projects include Oscillating Orbits»u003e for violin u0026 percussion ensemble, and his second opera Night.Shift»., based upon W.H. Auden’s The Age of Anxiety»; SILK/ST/RINGS»u003e for guitar trio and pipa, platzDADA» (slam poetry from Hans Arp, Kurt Schwitters).
