Johnny Varro

Johnny Varro is an international performer who has been performing since he was 16 years old. Bobby Hackett was his first professional gig. Then he performed at Eddie Condon’s with great jazzmen like Buck Clayton, PeeWee Russell, Yank Lawrence, Billy Butterfield and Lou McGarity. Johnny has performed in most jazz rooms in New York, including The Embers and Tavern on the Green, Hanratty’s and The Metropole, as well as Jimmy Ryan’s. He has many recordings and has toured the globe with groups like the Dukes of Dixieland and Wild Bill Davison All Stars, Peanuts Hucko Tour-Tribute to Benny Goodman, and Louis Armstrong. He was also a member of the Jackie Gleason Show. Johnny has been to Italy, Holland and Belgium, Germany Yugoslavia. Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Yugoslavia. He also did a special on TV in Stuttgart, Germany. He currently lives in Palm Harbor, Florida and plays at many jazz festivals around the globe. from http://www.johnnyvarro.com
