Joona Toivanen, a Finnish jazz pianist, was born in 1981. He currently resides in Gothenburg. In a very short time, he has become one of Finland’s most skilled jazz pianists. Toivanen and his own trio have toured extensively in Finland, Asia, Australia and Europe. Toivanen also has worked with top European jazz musicians. Toivanen’s music is poetic and delicate, and his technique tells the story. As a bandleader/co-bandleader, his current musical projects include the Blue Note recording Joona Toivanen Trio (Cam Jazz recording Joona toivanen) and the Nordic quartet Jazz
