With a fistful of highly praised releases under his belt and a soulful, jazz and hip-hop driven sound, 26 year-old multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer Jordan Rakei is a rare talent whose artistry transcends the confines of age. Jordan signed to British independent label Ninja Tune and released his second album “Wallflower” on September 2017. Jordan was born in New Zealand in a small town. He spent most of his childhood years in Brisbane. His “Groove Curse EP” garnered strong support in Europe and North America, convincing Jordan to travel the 10,000-mile journey to London. He made a name for his self in the UK by collaborating with Tom Misch and singing on Disclosure’s “Caracal” album. Jordan’s self-released 2016 debut album, “Cloak”, proved that he was an artist capable of making huge waves with his own music. He also became friends with South London’s party Rhythm Section in 2016, which encouraged him to release an EP featuring dancefloor-oriented tracks under the alias Dan Kye. Rakei is now more determined to achieve his goals since ‘Wallflower’. He has been praised by Mixmag, Evening Standard, and The FADER. His album “Wallflower” has accumulated over 100m Spotify streams and was voted the #2 Album at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards.
