Jørgen Ryg

Danish jazz trumpeter, comedian, actor (Aug. 11, 1927 – Aug. 28, 1981). Although he started out as a jazz musician, his great success as a comedian in the 60’s turned his career around. He was a grumpy, alcoholic character who had great success on the stage and screen in the 60’s and 1970’s. However, he occasionally played dramatic roles to great acclaim. Ironically, his jazz trumpet recordings were compiled and released after his rise to comedy stardom. From discogs
