Josh Roseman, a New York-based jazz trombonist, is well-known in the New York City scene of improvisers since the 1990s. He was born June 5, 1972 in Boston. The trombone was his favorite instrument. He grew up listening to AM radio and was influenced by his uncle, father, and cousins who were all musicians. His playing was influenced by classical music, but he also enjoyed Motown artists Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Sly.
