Josiah Woodson

Josiah Woodson, now a grammy-award winning sideman (for his work on Beyonce’s “Love on Top”) at the age 12 was playing trumpet. He was a graduate of Oaktown Jazz Workshop and learned his craft from Khalil Shaheed, his mentor. Woodson received his Bachelor of Music degree at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Ohio. He studied under Marcus Belgrave. Woodson moved to Boston to obtain a Master of Music degree with academic honors from the New England Conservatory of Music. He was then selected to perform at Panama Jazz Festival alongside Danilo Perez and Victor Paz.
