Juan Carlos Quintero, a Colombian Latin jazz guitarist, began his recording career in 1990 with Nova’s self-titled debut (remastered in 2000 by Native Language Music under the revised title Medellin), and 1992’s Through the Winds. Quintero recorded the albums with Todd Cochran, Otmaro Ruiz, Walfredo and Munyungo Reyes as percussionists. Way Home was released on the Size 11 label in 1997. Quintero has kept a busy release schedule in the new millennium, with Los Musicos (2001), Los Primas (2003) and Las Cumbias…Las Guitarras (2006). 2007 saw the release of Joy to the World, a holiday album, and Vol. 3.
