Pukl is a highly profiled and creative saxophonist of the Slovene younger jazz generation. He received his university education abroad. Pukl studied jazz saxophone and classical saxophone both at the Vienna Music Academy and the Haag Conservatory of Music. Jure was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he studied with Joe Lovano, George Garzone and others. At the Graz Academy of Music, he completed his master’s degree in music. Pukl recorded and performed extensively throughout his studies. He also collaborated with a number European and foreign jazzmen such as Johnatan Blake and Renato Chicco. His performances have included The Jazz Gallery, Ronnie Scotts and Pizza Express.
