Karina Iglesias

Born and raised in Miami, Florida to Honduran parents, Karina Iglesias’ sound mirrors the diverse musical and cultural influences that have shaped her character and forged her individuality as an artist. With a style equally formed by rhythm & blues, boleros, gospel, hip- hop and jazz, Karina can perform with the intimacy of a deep soul crooner or the drive and conviction of any notable siren from past eras. A veteran of the Miami live music scene, Karina began writing songs in earnest while working extensively with local bands. It soon became apparent that through composing original material, her true artistic identity had emerged. Her emotionally charged and deeply personal lyrics reveal her depth of character and vulnerability and are conveyed in a way that only happens when an artist is truly connected to who they are. On “Song For Her”, from her first album, nuances of Karina’s classical training, which can be a detriment for many artists in her position, are unveiled in the layers of deep meaning and emotion that point to how skilled she is. Karina was a member of the Miami Dolphins’ ensemble to sing the anthem at all home games. And in2011 sang a duet with Sony Latin Recording Artist, Franco de Vita and was featured in his live DVD album, ‘Primera Fila’, which won 2 Latin Grammy Awards. She has also performed with Wyclef Jean and was featured on Univision’s Mira Quien Baila, in addition to sharing the stage with Latin artists Beatriz Luengo, Alejandra Guzmán and Gilberto Santa Rosa to name a few. 2013 has proved to be a very memorable year when Karina was selected to be a contestant on NBC’s #1 TV Show Hit, ‘The Voice’.
