Karl Denson

Karl Denson and Lenny Kravitz met during a 1988 recording session. Kravitz called Denson the next year and asked him to play the solo on “Let Love Rule”, the single from Kravitz’s album. It turned out that Denson was able to perform on the entire album, join the band for the supporting tours, and was then invited back to tour support of the two Kravitz albums Mama Said (and Are You Gonna go My Way). Denson performed the same thing to rock when Kravitz said goodbye to the horns.
