Kendrick Scott

Kendrick Scott, a jazz drummer who is technically skilled and intuitive, has a preference for expansive post-bop. Scott was born in Houston, Texas, in 1980. His musical family encouraged him to drum from an early age. Scott was a member of his church’s music group and the junior high school’s music ensemble. He then attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and a performing arts highschool. Scott graduated from Berklee in 2003 and has been performing with many artists, including Pat Metheny, the Jazz Crusaders and Kenny Garrett as saxophonists and guitarists. He also performed with Dianne Reeves and Terence Blanchard as a trumpeter. In 2006, he released his debut album, The Source on World Culture Music.
