Since the age of seven, this Columbus Ohio native has been playing and studying music. His gift was first discovered by the church. He then went on to study music at Central State University. After graduating, Kenny was a teacher of vocal music in Columbus Public Schools. He then went on to pursue his dream by touring the United States as a clinician and keyboardist, musical director, and producer. Kenny has been on BET and Image Awards. He performed at President Barack Obama’s inauguration and has also appeared in notable venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, and the Philharmonie in Berlin. Kenny also appears in Tyler Perry’s movie “The Family That Preys”, and has composed “Hello Love” for the GMC movie, “Raising Izzie”. His many notable performing credits include appearances with Earl Klugh and Kenny Garrett, Wess Anderson, Russell Gunn. Kenny earned his Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University. He currently lives in Atlanta with his wife, Angie, and their three children (Kenny Jr. and Sydney). Cascade United Methodist Church’s Kenny is an accompanist and music director. He makes occasional appearances at Churchill Grounds as a guest with Atlanta’s top jazz musicians. He continues to record and perform abroad with Lizz Wright, a national recording artist. Kenny’s debut Jazz CD, “Truly Free”, was released in May.
