King Curtis

Saxophonist and songwriter. Born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 7, 1934. He was murdered by a group of junkies in New York, New York, on August 13, 1971. He was a successful solo artist, best known for his 1967 hit Memphis Soul Stew. However, he also worked as a producer and session musician. Curtis was a composer and musician of rhythm and blues, soul and Rock and roll. He also played great bop and soul jazz. Curtis was inducted into Rock u0026 Roll Hall of Fame.
