Kirk Whalum, born July 11, 1958, is an American smooth jazz musician and songwriter. For seven years, he toured with Whitney Houston and performed solo in the single “I Will Always Love You”. It was her best-selling single. Whalum has released a number of highly-received solo albums and soundtracks for films, with music that ranges from R to pop.
