This is a fine example of Belgian funky fusion, with a distinct dual trumpet front-line and obvious overtones from Placebo, Belgium’s most prominent jazz rockers. While Mr De Bruyne is the one playing the ivories, and occasionally unfurling a bed of synth syrup, it’s his bandmates who are the stars. The overt brassiness sometimes suggests Chicago’s early Chicago Transit Authority days.
