Laura Zakian, a jazz singer, is an artist. Her voice is a true jazz vocalist. She uses her voice to create and mold the melody lines that give each lyric the greatest effect. Laura, a London-based musician, has released four albums that have been well received. Each album features fresh, classy interpretations of the Great American Songbook, as well as unexpected pop songs. Recently, she was back in the studio. The long-awaited new material will be released later this spring. Laura studied jazz singing with Nancy Marano at the Manhattan School of Music. She began her career in Italy performing with top jazz musicians and appearing at Umbria Jazz Festival. She quickly established herself on the London jazz scene upon her return to the UK.
