Lawson Rollins, an American guitarist and composer, is from North Carolina. He is known for his unique fingerstyle and melodic compositional skills. His compositions often use fast minor scales or diminished scale solo runs. He also uses flamenco picado style arpeggios to move across the fretboard with his fingers, which is technically difficult for most guitarists. His compositions The Fire Cadenza and Santa Ana Wind, Daybreak and Infinita as well as his albums Infinita and Espirito and Full Circle are all highly praised by jazz and guitar fans. His videos of Locomotion and Santa Ana Wind have been viewed millions upon millions on Youtube. [12] He was influenced by Andres Segovia in his teens and later became interested in Jazz, Flamenco, improvisational Latin, and Brazilian guitar styles. In 1998, he moved to Washington, D.C. and met Daniel Young (Dan Young), who formed Young, a Latin guitar fusion band.
