Les Paul Trio (without Les Paul)

New York’s Iridium nightclub was established in New York’s Theater District as a jazz venue that hosted Les Paul once a week. He is a legendary guitarist, recording innovator, and the namesake of the Gibson guitar, which has been adored by many generations of rock stars. Nearly three years ago, Mondays belonged to Paul’s trio of swinging musicians. But, at the launch event for IridiumLive last night, it became clear that Paul is still a visionary and central to IridiumLive’s future. Ron Sturm, club owner, said that he had wanted to record for a while. He was quickly moving through the club as his trio prepared for their set with Jane Monheit, special guest singer on the album. “Les wanted them. This is how we got the HD recording and mixing gear.
