Liberty Ellman is a guitarist whose improvisational and interpretive skills, combined with his unique rhythmic touch have allowed him to play in the jazz groups of Henry Threadgill and Wadada LeoSmith, Myra Melford and Rudresh Mahanthappa. Ellman has also performed with standout vocalists like Jen Chapin, Somi, Ellisi and others. Ellman is a bandleader and composer who has released three critically acclaimed CDs, Orthodoxy (Red Giant Records), Tactiles(Pi Recordings), and Ophiuchus Butterfly.
