Miami New Time Magazine has named Lindsey Blair the Best Jazz Musician 2011. Lindsey Blair was an official guitarist for Sabado Gigante, Don Francisco’s reggaetonero Daddy Yankee. But it was Wes Montgomery that got him started on the guitar. Jazz is his passion. He studied the form at University of Miami for his bachelor and master’s degrees. He has also toured with Maynard Ferguson, as well as played with Dizzy Gilespie. He has also worked for years with Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan, and he was able to get a gig with Miami Sound Machine at Super Bowl XLII. His powerful, blazing Latin Jazz shines in his current 7Crossing gig. It’s easy to think that artists as varied as Gloria Estefan, Country singer Lee Ann Womac and hip-hop legends 2 Live Crew are all the same.
