In 1994, Lisa Ekdahl became a Scandinavian superstar overnight. Lisa’s debut album was quadruple platinum, and she won three grammy awards. Fans and critics have loved her laid-back style and her vulnerability and sensitivity. Many European countries, including France, have fallen in love with her subtle way of performing jazz standards and bossanova as well as original songs. Lisa was hired by Toni Holgersson, a singer/songwriter, to perform background vocals for his album. This was her first record deal with EMI. The background singing did not go well, but Lisa was instead discovered by EMI’s Ahead.
