Luca Dell’anna

He was born in Ferrara, Italy in 1975. He studied jazz piano and classical in Ferrara and Rome. His first live experience as a professional musician was at the age of 19. He now lives in Milano in Italy. He has collaborated with many musicians in jazz and fusion, Latin Jazz projects. His albums include “Tan T’Ien-the fourth Door” recorded with Ivo Barbieri, Francesco Cusa, and was named one of the top three jazz albums of 2013 by “The Jazz Critique Magazine”. Francesco Cusa was also part of his trio “The Assassins”, which took place in Addis Ababa in 2013. He also participated in the “Acacia Jazz Festival”, where he performed with them. Ivo Barbieri and Serena Ferrara collaborate in “Zancle”, a project that focuses on the mixing of jazz and Mediterranean sounds. He recorded his trio album “Mana” with Israel Varela in 2013. It contains his compositions and is a tribute to his love for Cuban music, in particular south-American music. “Mana”, following the popularity of “Tan T’Ien”, is now available in Japan. Two-page special published by the prestigious Italian Magazine Jazzit recently with an interview and a review of “Mana”. He was recently in Denmark with Adam Rapa and the Prinsens Musikkorps as well as the brass band “Silkeborg Blaeserne” at Riverboat Jazz in Silkeborg. Recently, he participated in CIMVO 2014, L’Olleria in Valencia, Spain, with Elisabeth Vik’s quartet. His song “Abre los Ojos” from “Mana” was included in “Jazz Bar 2014”, while “Struggle Through Lucubration”, which was selected by Yasukuni Terashima (one of the most respected Japanese Jazz Critics), has been included on the compilation “For Jazz Audio Fans only vol.7”. In November 2014, he was invited to Palanga, Lituania as a guest at the international conference “Nauji Vejai” (“Winds bring Changes”), where he will perform in duo with Adam Rapa. In January 2015, he was invited to the “Suisse Diagonales Jazz Festival”, Lugano, Switzerland with his trio.
