His first experience with music was in 1984, when he performed with his parents (both musicians) at Schwetzingen, Germany’s encore. He received his first Washburn electric guitar in 1989 as a gift. He began to play with his idols (Michael Jackson and Van Halen) He quit the guitar in 1992 to learn the drums. “Being a drummer first, and a guitarist later, helped me a lot with creativity and rhythmic understanding.” He quit the drums in 1996 due to his growing interest and passion for guitar after a long listening session of Images and Words by Dream Theater. He is a guitarist, composer, and arranger. Since then, he has worked with many artists. He flew to Canada in 2005 to record James LaBrie’s third solo album, Elements of Persuasion. It was a huge success with progressive metal fans. He is now a member of James LaBrie’s band and released his first solo album, There’s Hope, on February 15th 2008 via Lion Music. He was also a guitarist, co-writer, and engineer on the James LaBrie album Static Impulse in 2010. His second solo album, reMarcoble, was released in 2012. It was edited by JTC Records. He joined James LaBrie’s group for the third time in 2013 to record the album Impermanent Resonance. He was named the new guitarist for PFM, an Italian progressive band. He also announced a new band with Alex Argento on keyboards, Virgil Donati (drums), and Andrea Casali (bass and vocals).
