Matija Dedić

Matija was born in Zagreb, March 2, 1973. He began playing the classic piano when he was five years old. He graduated from Music high school Vatroslav Litinski»u003e in 1991. After that, he went to Graz to Jazz Academy, where he received private lessons with J. Taylor, Hal Galper and Bill Dobins. He grew up in a family that was heavily influenced by traditional and pop music. This is why he discovered jazz at an early age and how it allows him to be more abstract and personal. He returns to Zagreb in 1997 and begins to play more. His work is well-recognized both in Croatia and abroad. He also played in his own band, the Boliers Quartet». This group supported B. Golson and other musicians like K. Burells, R. Hayness, J. Feliciano, and All Stars Band». He also played in the Tamara Obrovac Quartet». He has played in Italy and Germany, Slowakia.
