Sweet Candor is Maureen Budway’s wonderful debut album and her final recording. We can only mourn her loss to breast Cancer in January but the music and Maureen Budway’s voice will be greatly enjoyed by everyone who hears it. Budway was a beautiful singer, and she delivered each note with a wonderful voice. This set includes tunes from Sam Jones, Billy Reid, Buddy Kay, Irving Berlin and Buddy Kay as well as songs by Stephen Foster, Donald Moore, Stephen Foster and Antonio Carlos Jobim. It is a high-quality band with Marty Ashby, David Budway, Jeff Grubbs, Paul Thompson, and Marty Ashby playing guitar. The bass duties are shared by Paul Thompson and James Johnson III. You will also find guest performances by trumpeter Sean Jones and flutist Hubert Laws, as well as guitarist Joe Negri.
