Meddy Gerville

Meddy Gerville was born in 1974 on Reunion Island in St-Pierre. His first album, “Reunion Island”, was recorded in 1997 by Philippe Sellam, Nicolas Folmer and Louis Winsberg. Meddy was awarded the Pian’Austral Award in 2000 for best Indian Ocean pianist (with Alain Jean-Marie being one of the judges). Meddy’s second album, “Jazz’Oya”, was released in 2000. It featured guest musicians from Paris and Reunion, Olivier Louvel (The Barbes National Orchestra), Stephane Guilbert (Didier Lockwood, Stephane Huchard and The National Orchestra of Jazz), Linley Marte (Joe Zawinul). from
