Mette Juul was born in Hornsyld, a small danish village. Juul began singing and writing songs at an early age. Her degree was awarded by The Rhythmic Music Conservatory of Copenhagen. Mette Juul has been touring internationally since 2007. Mette Juul was the winner of the 2007 International Jazzartist Competition, Tallinn. She was one of 12 participants from 8 countries. Mette Juul’s debut album, “Coming in From the Dark”, was released by Alex Riel on drums, Jesper Lundgaard and Heine Hansen on pianos. Palle Mikkelborg and Poul Halberg were guests on the trumpet and guitar. Mette Juul’s second album, “Moon On My Shoulder”, was released in 2012 by trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. Lars Danielsson (bass), Morten Lund (drums) and Nikolaj Hess (piano). Mette Juul’s third album, “There is a Song”, was released september 18, 2015 by Universal Music Group. Mette Juul’s music was recorded with Nikolaj Hess (danish pianist), Ambrose Akinmusire (drummer), Joe Sanders (bass) and Mike Moreno (guitar).
