Michael Dees is a consummate lounge singer, thanks to his smooth vocals and friendly demeanour. Dees was voted Best Male Singer at the International Popular Song Festival in 1968. He has since appeared in films such as A Walk in the Rain and Day of the Locust. Two episodes of The Simpsons featured his vocals. When HBO produced The Rat Pack, a 1998 HBO biopic about Frank Sinatra, Dees was able to recreate the vocals. The cable network refused to use Sinatra’s original recordings and instead turned to Dees whose singing was a key part of some of the film’s most memorable moments. Dees’ debut solo album, One Single Rose was released in 2002.
