The Rhythm Serenaders present a tightly-arranged, riff-dominated small-group swinging that is faithfully performed for a large swing dancing audience. The repertoire is dominated by careful transcriptions and subtle adaptations of Goodman/Christian Seextet. There are thoughtful forays into the combination work of Ellington, Basie, and some of the late 40’s material that Eldridge has compiled, particularly his time with Artie Shaw. The band features Laura Windley on vocals. They also explore the amazing songbook that Billie Holiday left behind during her time at Columbia. She gathered some of the most skilled swinging players in order to bring to life some the most popular pop songs ever written. The band’s repertoire is influenced by the 15-year experience of Michael Gamble in international swing. from www.rhythmserenaders.com
