Mickey Tucker

Since the 1960s Mickey Tucker has been featured on hard bop recordings by players such as Junior Cook, James Moody and Frank Foster. Tucker is a pianist first, but he has performed on the organ with Rahsaan Rot Kirk. Tucker started playing piano at the age of six. His musical idea was influenced by his childhood experience playing in church. He backed Little Anthony, a non-jazz act, in the mid-’60s.
