Mike Clark

Mike Clark, born October 3, 1946, is an American jazz and Funk drummer. He is best known for his time in the Headhunters group led by Herbie Hancock during the mid-1970s. Clark’s performance on Hancock’s album Thrust (1974), particularly the song “Actual Proof”, has been cited as one the most outstanding examples of linear funk drumming. Clark was also a member the UK jazz-fusion group Brand X. He alternated between the drums and Phil Collins from 1978 to 1980. Clark has performed with many of the top jazz and funk musicians, such as Chet Baker and Vince Guaraldi. Clark is also a well-known drummer in modern music.
