Miles Perkins, the bassist and band leader of Mingus Amungus, is based on the creative foundations of Charles Mingus. All-star six-piece band weaves their way through Mingus’ intricate charts with hard-hitting jazz, be-bop and funk. The band adds San Francisco’s Hip-Hop Jazz flavor to the mix along with a variety lyricists, thereby bringing Mingus’ work into the modern age.
