Mnd Flo

MND FLO was born as a trio consisting of Pianist Sharik Hazan, Bassist Alexander L. J. Toth and Drummer Anthony A. Toth. It was one of those stories that they found and everything clicked right away. The three of them first met in Boston while they were studying at Berklee College of Music. It was a time of musical experimentation and the beginning of a lasting friendship. Enter Vibraphonist, Simon Moullier. He arrived in Boston a little later than expected, but he quickly found himself exploring the city with the trio. It was an instant connection. He really added a unique voice to the music and gave it a whole new dimension. Their musical philosophy has not revolved around any individual musicians or personalities since then. Instead, it is a unit that moves together and Flos together. MND FLO is their artistic home, even though they are distinguished musicians who reside in different cities. MND FLO is a band that all members are equally involved in every aspect of the music. This is a rare thing nowadays. MND FLO’s rich history is something that has a profound influence on all members. They are often asked where they came from. MND FLO is a collection of people from many countries, including Canada, France, Trinidad and Hungary. They have found an endless source of inspiration in this diversity. MND FLO believes that one of the best things about creating music, is the ability to dig into roots and incorporate elements from your culture into the music. The group also hopes to incorporate the concept of “Flo” into their music. Flo is described as a feeling that everything works together, allowing the listener to feel fully immersed in the music. They say Flo is relatable to every day life, as well as music. You can find Flo in your clothes, in your speech, in the way that you dress. It’s always there when they come together. MND FLO’s debut album, “From Time”, simply mentions the time the group has known each other. They have known each other since childhood, have been brothers since childhood, and have been making music together for a long time. This album features a variety of ethnic details as well as their apparent desire to create new vessels for musical expression through electronic elements. http://mndflo.com
