Mode Plagal

Mode Plagal, an original Greek band that performs traditional Greek music mixed with jazz, funk, and other international styles, is called Mode Plagal. They are known as “the preeminent ambassadors for the much-maligned vernacular Greek musical tradition in the 21st Century”. The Athens-based group was founded in 1990 by Thodoris Rolos (saxophone, vocals), Kleon Antonu (guitar and vocals) u0026 Takis Kanellos(drums). In 1995, Antonis Maratos joined them (originally percussion, then bass); in 1997, Angelos Polychronou was (percussion); and in 2000, Florian Mikuta was (keyboards). They recorded two albums of instrumental music, Mode Plagal II and Mode Plagal II. In 2000, they added vocals to their third album, Mode Plagal III.
