Molly Ryan

She has been a sought-after singer on the New York Jazz scene since 2003 when she moved from Roseville, CA to New York City. She has performed at prestigious Manhattan venues such as The Town Hall and The Waldorf Astoria. She has performed with such jazz legends as Randy Reinhart and Jon-Erik Kellso. Bria Skonberg is a member of the band, as well as Mark Shane, Mark Shane, Rossano Sportsiello and the legendary 1920s-style orchestra Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks. She is part of Gordon Au’s Grand Street Stompers and appeared on their Christmas album in November 2012. Molly is the rhythm guitarist/vocalist with James Langton’s New York All-Star Big Band. They performed to sold-out audiences at Midsummer Night Swing. She is currently performing monthly at The Rainbow Room. Molly performs with Fete Manouche, a gypsy-jazz group. Molly has performed at many jazz festivals and parties in the U.S. and internationally, including the North Carolina Jazz Festival and New York Hot Jazz Festival. She also appeared with the gypsy jazz group Fete Manouche. In Paris, she has performed at Jazz Clubs like Autour de Midi and Le Petit Journal. She also has been a featured vocalist with Andrej Hermlin’s Swing Dance Orchestra in Germany as part of a massive tribute to Benny Goodman. Molly was part of a stunning re-creation Goodman’s Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert and at the JVC Jazz Festival’s Centennial tribute to Jimmy Dorsey in New York City’s jazz club Birdland. She has headlined Birdland’s Sunday night showcase, “Jazz Party”, and performed there with James Langton’s New York All-Star Big Band as well as her own band in a highly acclaimed tribute to Mae West. Molly’s debut album Dream a Little Dream was released in 2002. It featured Bob Ringwald. Songbird in the Moonlight, her second solo album featuring Dan Levinson and Mark Shane, Kevin Dorn and Jon-Erik Kellso was released in 2008. Molly can be heard on the albums “Steppin’ Around with Dan Levinson’s Canary Cottage Dance Orchestra” (Stomp Off Records 2006), “At the Codfish Ball with Dan Levinson’s Swing Wing” (Loup-garous Productions 2009) and “Four on the Floor with Palomar Quartet” (Loup-garous Productions 2008). She released Swing For Your Supper in 2013, featuring Bucky Pizzarelli, Maude Maggart, and guest vocalists Banu and Gibson. Molly’s new album, Let’s Fly Away, will be out this month.
