Moonlight Saving Time

Moonlight Saving Time, the 2013 Emerging Excellence winner from the Musicians Benevol Fund, combines bold improvisation with atmospheric grooves or world rhythms to create an original sound in contemporary jazz. The band draws on influences from Massive Attack to Chick Corea and offers a fresh approach to jazz as well as original melodic compositions. Moonlight Saving Time is led by Emily Wright (the Telegraph calls her “terrifically gifted”) and features Nick Malcolm, a renowned trumpeter. Moonlight Saving Time’s first EP was featured on BBC Radio 3’s Jazz on 3 by Jez Nelson. They have received great critical acclaim from performances across the UK, including at the Oxford, Cheltenham, and Brecon jazz festivals. The band also recently performed at London’s Pizza Express Jazz Club. from www.moonlightsavingtime.co.uk
