Nacka Forum, a Swedish jazz group, is highly regarded. The group was founded in Stockholm in 1999. They started by playing music by great free jazz musicians like Ornette Coleman, Art Ensemble Of Chicago, and Sun Ra. But they soon began to perform original music written by their members. Kjell Nordeson, the drummer, was replaced in 2012 by Kresten Osgood, a danish drummer. Nacka Forum’s self-titled debut was recorded in 2002. It received widespread recognition and earned them both a nomination for a grammy and was included on many “best of” lists in Sweden’s biggest magazines. In 2005, “Leve Nacka Forum”, followed by the “Fee Fi Fo Rum”, was released seven years later. Special guest Akira Sakata was also included on the “Live in Tokyo” album. The new album “We are the World” will be released in 2016. The members have been acclaimed and won numerous awards, including the Swedish and Danish Grammy’s, Guldbagge (swedish equivalent of the oscar), Nordic Music Prizes, Royal Music Academy Jazz Prizes and many other awards.
