Nattali Rize

Australia’s Nattali Rize is a singer/guitarist/songwriter known for her politically minded, reggae-influenced pop/rock. Rize, a native of Byron Bay and originally known as Natalie Pa’apa’a, began her music career as a street performer with Carlo Santone’s band Skin. The couple formed Blue King Brown, a roots-and-reggae group that consisted of eight members. They performed and recorded for more than a decade. Pa’apaaa moved to Jamaica in 2014 and began writing solo material. She adopted the stage name Nattali Rize. This stage name is supposedly inspired by the Native American word “natt”, which means “speaker” in Native American and the Bob Marley song, “Rise up.” She collaborated with Notis, a reggae group, for her debut EP, New Era Frequency, in 2015. The single “Rebel Love” was featured on the album. She released Rebel Frequency two years later. It featured guest appearances by Raging Fyah and Julian Marley. Itunes
