New Standard Jazz Orchestra

The New Standard Jazz Orchestra, founded in 2013, has been a major musical force in Chicago. It is a unique entity with its own voice. The band, which is co-led by Andy Baker and Ken Partyka, is composed of some of Chicago’s most talented musicians, composers, and arrangers. NSJO’s arrangers search the ensemble for subtle textures, colors, and build on musical devices that go beyond the ordinary. They create rich backdrops for world-class improvisers like Marquis Hill and Mark Colby, and they also host monthly Jazz Showcase performances. from https://originarts.com
