New York Voices

The New York Voices are one of the most outstanding (and only) jazz vocal ensembles of the 1990s. They use a variety of jazz songs, as well as adaptations of current material from jazz and pop. Darmon Meader, who also plays the EWI and reeds, had led a vocal group to Europe through Ithaca College in 1986 under the name New York Voices. The official group was formed in the following year. It consisted of a rhythm section, five singers, and Meader, Caprice Fox, Kim Nazarian and Sara Krieger, who were later succeeded by Lauren Kinhan. They recorded a number of enjoyable CDs for GRP.
