Niki Vörös

1979 was the year I was born in Esztergom. I started playing the piano in primary school. At 13 years old, I was accepted into the adult vegyeskaraba music school. High school was a combination of many years spent learning from private people and jazz music. I sang in this small group of amateur musicians. I was a participant in the 1996 “What You Know?” Here is where I won the semi-final. At that point, I knew I wanted to study jazz music. I began my studies at the Jazz School of Music, Budapest Ferenc Erkel in 2000. Every summer, I took part in the Szombathely Lamantin Improvised Camp, where I learned from many of the most well-known Hungarian and foreign jazz musicians. In 2006, I was accepted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music’s jazz faculty. He formed his own band in 2007, which won the 2007 Paks Jazz Pop-Rock Festival best singer award. Teachers Hunyadi Laszlo Lakatos, Agnes, Gabor Winand, Tamas Berki, Irma Holczer. bio from www.muzsikus.hu
