Nubiyan Twist is a musical group based in London, but born in Leeds. They are led by Tom Excell, guitarist and producer. Their unique sound is a mix of jazz, hip hop, latin, soul music, reggae, and dance music. The foundations of singer & Mc Nubiya Brandon’s melodic and soulful vocals are laid by a combination of talented producers, talented musicians and inspired composers. A live 10 piece show with a 4 piece horn section and 2 vocalists, electronic and an international (Brazil/UK), rhythm section creates a powerful and memorable experience. Their debut album was well received by jazz and world hip-hop media. Support came from many sources including Huey Morgan and David Rodigan, Craig Charles and Songlines. In May 2016, Siren Song was released. In 2017, Supercat’s Dance Inna New York remix was also released. Their next studio album is due to be released on October 7th by Strut Records.
