Born June 16, 1949 in Koforidua (Ghana), West Africa. He is known for his masterful performance of all the parts of a traditional Ghanaian five-person drum band. He attaches percussion instruments on various parts of his body, while simultaneously playing drums, a balanceon and other instruments. In one performance, he can play up to 85 instruments. Asante comes from a long line of musicians and is an expert on traditional Ghanaian talking drums. Asante is also well-known for his collaboration with Paul Simon on Graceland. From Wikipedia
