Onyx Ashanti is a Mississippi-born ex-pat who now lives in Berlin. He is what’s commonly known as a “busker”, a musician who works wherever people will listen. Ashanti, like many buskers has only two requirements: a place to perform and a crowd to listen. Ashanti, unlike many street musicians, doesn’t have a guitar or a violin. Onyx uses a unique creation that he calls “beatjazz.” It’s equal parts saxophone, computer, analog and digital.
