Martin Ostergren (piano), and Dan Stromkvist, (drums), are the founders of the trio. They have been sidemen for over 25 years and feel now is the right time to release their own music. In a press release, the two said that their desire to create and play dynamic, instrumental, and improvised music within one’s own band has grown stronger over time. The Jazz Piano Trio format was chosen. The twelve tracks were recorded in Rixmixningsverket, Skeppsholmen. According to the press release, the music is both rhythmic and ambient jazz that incorporates American jazz traditions with Nordic sounds. This is something I agree with.
