Oz Quartet

The French jazz group Oz Quartet was active in the 1980s. The group was formed by Didier Sarrazit (guitarist and vocalist), Jerry Bedoucha (bassist), Eric Petit (violinist) and Eric Bedoucha (drummer). Their only album, “Instant”, was released in 1983. Their music is jazz rock, with some elements of Zeuhl’s music. The protagonism of Eric Petit’s guitar blends with classic jazz sounds, which are beautifully executed and that recall the solo work Alain Eckert, guitarist of Art Zoyd. It’s interesting to note how the French musicians of this period used modern classical and dissonant elements. They largely produced very good works that were a significant contribution to Jazz innovation and avantgarde music on steempeak.com.
