Pachora, a NYC-based quartet, features Brad Shepik (Tiny Bell Trio), Chris Speed (Tim Berne’s Bloodcount, John Hollenbeck’s Claudia Quintet), on clarinet, Jim Black, (Tiny Bell Trio), Tim Berne’s Bloodcount) and Skuli Sverrisson, (Allan Holdsworth; Blonde Redhead) as bass. The band plays traditional Mediterranean music (ei). music from Greece, the Balkans and others …). This is a great introduction to world music.
