Palle Danielsson

Palle Danielsson is most well-known for his role as a sideman with many top leaders. He began studying violin when he was eight years old. Danielsson switched to bass when he turned 15, and began playing professionally as a bass player. He studied at the Stockholm Royal Academy of Music (1962-1966) and began playing with top Scandinavian musicians like Jan Garbarek, Bobo Stenson, and others. He was often asked by American jazzmen who passed through his country to find Danielsson. He worked with Charlie Shavers, George Russell and Ben Webster. He was a member of Keith Jarrett’s European quartet (1974-1979), which also included Jan Garbarek.
