Pat Patrick

Laurdine Kenneth Patrick (November 23, 1929 to December 31, 1991), was an American jazz musician. He was a baritone, alto and Fender bass player and is best remembered for his 40-year relationship with Sun Ra. Patrick lived in Sun Ra’s East Village and Philadelphia communal homes for many years as a long-term Sun Ra Arkestra member. He played with John Coltrane (appearing in 1961 on Africa/Brass), Blue Mitchell (A Sure Thing 1962), Mongo Santamaria (Watermelon Man and Yeh Yeh) and Thelonious Monk (early 70s).
